Throughout the year there are a number of fantastic events in Tolleshunt Major. Please support them as much as you can, if you have any new ideas and would like to join the fundraising committee you would be more than welcome.  The committee meets just once a quarter, the meetings are short and normally involve a glass of something. Please support the great village we live in and get in touch.

QUIZ NIGHT

Teams of up to 6 persons. Bring your own drinks and nibbles. Raffle prizes too!
Just £7.50 per person to enjoy 6 delicious different puddings. Tea and coffee will be provided, if you would like to bring something else to drink please do so. To book please email sjr.case@hotmail.co.uk or call 07887 907 403. Payment must be made in advance. Tables can be reserved for 8 people.

BREAST CANCER CREAM TEA

BREAST CANCER CREAM TEA – A GREAT SUCCESS
A BIG thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the delicious cream tea in the village hall – a record 50 people booked! Thank you to all the wonderful bakers and helpers – Dee, Lynn, Elaine, Sam, Caroline, Gill, Tony and Stephen. Also to everyone who donated a raffle prize which included The Swan, The Bell, Cinderella’s, Braxted Farm Shop, Stuff’d, David Russell Optician, Ballantyne swimming pool, Tesco (Maldon), Asda (Tiptree),  Thursday Cottage, Hair by Rebecca, Hair Couture, Solo Beauty Lounge, Hare-ess Beauty. The amount raised for Breast Cancer Now was £814, a record amount.
The tea was started by the late Sue Wilde after her cancer diagnosis, we have now held 10 cream teas and raised a total of £4,899 over the years. That’s a lot of scones and sandwiches! We hope to see you all again next year, there may be the addition of prosecco next year too.

BINGO NIGHT

TM SUMMER FAIR

Date: Saturday 16th May 2026
Time: 1pm – 4pm on the village playing field
Organiser: St Nicholas Village Hall Committee
Cost: Free to attend

The 2025 summer fair was a great success and raised £1,423 – our best total ever. Money raised is used for the upkeep of the village hall and the church. We enjoyed delicious teas and barbecue, a great bar, fishing for fizz, beat the goalie, raffle, tombola, splat the rat, bowling, bean bag game, book stall and more. If you would like to be involved in next year’s summer fair please speak to a member of the committee.
